Day 2 report

470 European Championships - Team GBR - Day 2 report
GDYNIA, POLAND-(9-6-2005) The second day of races was sunny with declining wind (from 15 to 5 knots). Although the temperature made us wear some additional wet suit.

Today three races took place. The fight before starting signal was really obstinated. During the starting procedure in 5th man's race 14 black flag false starts were commited (inter alia: FRA 2631, SUI 51, FRA 2620, AUS 351, POL 7...)!

Group phase is to be ended tomorrow. The one race only is left until the finals. Results didn't vary much from yesterday's. 2004 Olympic silver medallists, GBR 817 - Nick Rogers, Joe Glanfield keep on leading in men's classification.

They won the last race and were second in the first one. In the women’s fleet first position is occupied by Marcellien de Koning and Lobke Berkhout, NED 11 (they won 4 races). The best Polish team constantly is time Katarzyna Tylińska, Zuza Gładysz, reaches the 5th place. From yesterday crews are fussy for double cleats from the spinaker, after Mr.Ron Baku inspection. Beware! Tomorrow the last group race is scheduled for 11 am with the weather forecast predicting winds of around 5 knots. And in the evening, at 8 pm, the sailors party will take place in Coco Club in Gemini Center. Get ready for a real blast:)ooops...
