Intervela - Preview
RIVA DEL GARDA, ITALY-(12-7-2005) The Intervela is again on Garda Trentino water, as did in the last fifty years, and always under the Fraglia della Vela supervision. Is nice to remember that this event called here in Riva del Garda the most famous names of Italian and International sailing, durino all these years, and one for all is Agostino Straulino, the admiral recently passed away, captain of the Amerigo Vespucci, gold medallist in Helsinki for the Star class in 1952 with Nicolò Rode (Star), maybe the best sailing “performer” of last century.

Nine races scheduled in the Notice of Race, with starting signal tomorrow, Wednesday 13th, at 13 for all classes admitted (470 men and women, Finn and 420). Eighty boats registered-to-be (not later than tomorrow morning), with a good number of 470 from Italy, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, France, Great Britain and Germany. Among Italian crews we see Zeni-Lupelli (F.V. Riva), the sisters Anna and Bettina Bonelli (F.V. Riva), Trani-Percic (Società Triestina della vela), the “two” Dubbini, Luca and Roberto and Conti-Micol (C. Vela Toscolano Maderno), Fonda-Zucchetti (Yacht Club Adriaco), Saccheggiani-Cutolo (Yacht Club Italiano Genova).

Among Finn we see the “star”, well known since his silver in Athens 2004, Rafael “Rafa” Trujillo, actually busy on +39, one of the Italian clubs for Valencia America’s Cup 2007; Rafa will have to fight against some Italian sailors, as De Sangro (Circolo del Remo e della Vela “Italia”), Riosa (Y.C. Hannibal), Faggiani (C.N. Capodimonte) and Cisbani (C.V. Portocivitanova).

For 420 there are crews from Greece, Hungary, and six from Italy: Mancinelli-Brighenti (C. Vela Roma), Camilli-Pedrotti (C.V. Gargnano), Brolli-Brolli (C. Nautico Rimini), Goffredi (F.V. Desenzano), Lovison-Crestana (F.V. Peschiera) e Polettini-Sciarra (F.V. Desenzano).
