4-4-2007 - Another excellent day of racing at the 38 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia – Mapfre for both competitors and the media representatives that have attended the regatta. Classes sailing in groups started today the final series divided in groups gold, silver and bronze. The great and equal level of competitors (with eleven 2005 Olympics medallists, 25 European titles and practically the top ten of each class) is bringing big changes in the partial results.

3-4-2007 - The 926 boats and 1.487 competitors that participate these days at the 38 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia – Mapfre had to wait again for the wind, which blew from S-SE between six and fifteen knots, to stabilize in the bay of Palma. The overcast sky with which the day started announced what was going to happen. In some of the eight racing areas the committees made several attempts to give starts but the wind drop and the important wind shifts resulted in invalid starts and new starting procedures.

6-4-2007 - The excellent weather conditions of the Bay of Palma were finally present on the last day of competition and offered spectacular racing in the medal race of the 38 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia – Mapfre. Only the top ten sailors of each Olympic class sailed in the Medal Race, which scores double points and cannot be discarded. Therefore, due to the great level of the competitors and the equal points in the standings, there was tension in the air. But the S wind, 12 to 14 knots offered great sailing for competitors, spectators and international media representatives.

5-4-2007 - Today’s heavy showers in the Bay of Palma left the eight racing areas of the 38 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia – Mapfre without wind. Only classes Star, Finn, 49er and Tornado completed one race and the Yngling fleet sailed two races before the light morning breeze dropped completely. The SW wind of average 5 knots that blew in the bay of Palma complicated today’s races demanding the competitors’ high tactical knowledge to remain in the top positions of the fleet. The Race Committees also faced problems to lay the courses and get races started.
