Rolex Transatlantic Challenge 2005 - Start postponed due to dangerous weather conditions
NEW YORK, N.Y.-(20-5-2005) The start of the Rolex Transatlantic Challenge, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 21, has been postponed by the New York Yacht Club Race Committee for at least 24 hours.
The reason is potentially dangerous weather conditions in the start area. A race postponement flag was hoisted in accordance with the sailing instructions, and further updates are planned for the Captains’ Meeting at 6 p.m. this evening.
