| Bermuda Gold Cup - Lewin selects Kratzig as semifinal opponent |
| HAMILTON, BERMUDA-(21-10-2003) Bermuda’s Paula Lewin of Team Ace Group, the top qualifier after finishing undefeated in round robin racing at the Bermuda International Women’s Match Racing Championship, has chosen American Elizabeth Kratzig, the fourth and final qualifier, as her competitor in the first-to-three-points semifinals.
That leaves Sweden’s Jenny Axhede of Team Panorama paired up with American Sally Barkow. Following the semifinals, the two winners will square off in a first-to-three-points finals.
Racing is currently set to begin after a brief delay due to light winds on Hamilton Harbor.
As an added bonus, the two finalists from the Bermuda International Women’s Match Racing Championship advance to Round 1 of the Investors Guaranty Presentation of the King Edward VII Gold Cup, where the winner will face America’s Cup legend Dennis Conner and the runner-up will sail against Oracle BMW Racing Team leader Chris Dickson on Wednesday morning.
