Star World Championship - Racing abandoned due to lack of wind on day four of Star worlds |
GAETA, ITALY-(28-4-2004) On the fourth day of the Audi Star class world championship, racing has had to be abandoned due to lack of wind.
After a postponement waiting for the wind to fill in, racing finally got underway at 16 00 in 5 knots of breeze. After 3 ½ hours, none of the 102 competitors had crossed the finish line and the race had to be abandoned as the boats were outside the time limit.
So far a total of two races have been sailed, and with six scheduled for the championship, and four needed to constitute a series, everyone is hoping that the wind will be on side for tomorrow to allow the championship to get underway again.
Further information about the world championship can be found on the event website www.starworld2004.com.
